Briston Palin isn't taking any chances.?Sarah Palin's reality-star daughter has obtained a temporary restraining order against a Texas man who allegedly sent her an engagement ring in the mail along with a very unnerving wedding proposal.
E! News confirms Palin sought the protection order saying she fears for her safety from 39-year-old Michael Cummings, who she alleges also sent her a note with the ring saying "I (heart) you" and showed up at her mom's house on her son Tripp's fourth birthday Dec. 27. But that's not all.

Palin's camp claims that she also received a second note with a knife inside that police are looking into, but no confirmation has been made. Her manager David Martin tells E! News that this is a "very serious situation and we're not taking this lightly."
Cummings' mom also called authorities to inform them that her son was "unstable" and looking for the "Dancing with the Stars" finalist before he ended up at the former Republican governor's home.

Since the restraining order is temporary, Palin's attorneys are going to file a new request later this month asking it be extended in order to "do everything we can to keep him away from her."
Martin tells us that Bristol is "very upset," but her main concern is keeping her family safe.
